Make thick bed mortar with 20-30 mm.
thick, 75 mm. width with normal masonry mortar along
construction line.
Lay a first course block on thick bed masonry mortar
with 10-15 mm. apart from column by spreading masonry
mortar up vertical side of the first block, lay the
block and hammer to make 10-15 mm. perpendicular
joint, level and plumb, smooth the overspread mortar
then do the same to finish the first course.
Spread enough masonry mortar on the first course
blocks to make 10-15 mm. horizontal joint with second
course blocks. Block should be laid overlapping with
lower course blocks, overlap distance should not
be less than 10 cm. with bottom course block. Control
level and plumb with10-15 mm. perpendicular and horizontal
joint.
Insert dowel (steel rod 6 mm. diameter) in columns
and block walls at every
400 mm.from thick bed mortar up to top of column.
Dowels are embedded 150
mm. in masonry mortar along horizontal joints of
block wall.
Supporting column (100 mm.width ) and lintel( 100mm.thick)
are required in the wall at the middle of distance
between column and middle of height, exception the
length and height as in table.
Wall
dimensions do not require supporting column
and lintel.

Supporting column (10 cm. width ) and lintel (10cm.thick)
are required at every window and door frames.
Steel structure building or post tension floor
system is required 3.0- 4.0 cm. space
between bottom of beam or under of floor and top
of block wall should be
filled with flexible materials such as expanded polystyrene
foam or rubber sheet.
Right angle section steels 40 x 70 x 3.2 mm. 200
mm. width should be fixed with
expansion bolt (5mm. diameter, 25-30 mm. long) under
the post-tension floor at
the top of every supporting columns , and at the
vertical joint of top course block at
each 1.20 meter, both sides, to prevent swaying.
Sanitary and electrical pipes system can be embedded
in wall 3-4 days after laying
block. Grooves can be cut with concrete cutter and
filled with masonry mortar after
pipe systems are put in place.
EKOBLOK plastering method.
Put wire mesh ( 12.5 x 12.5 mm.) on
every joint of columns or lintels to block wall and
along embedded sanitary or electrical pipes to prevent
difference shrinkage and movement. Wire mesh should
be covered on block wall and column or lintel not less
than 15 cm. on both sides of joint.
Spray water on the wall same as plastering on clay
brick wall or normal block wall.
Plaster the first layer with normal plaster mortar
7.5 – 10.0 mm. thickness , then leave to dry
for a while
Second layer plastering can be applied up to required
thickness with fine plaster mortar
Water should be sprayed on wall surface to cure
plaster cement 3 days later.
